It all started with Food Stamps
I was never really the entrepreneur type. I loved my steady paycheck too much.
But in 2009, I got laid off from my job – just after my wife and I not only bought our first house, but also had our first baby!
Finding work during a global recession was extremely difficult, so I resorted to doing freelance music gigs.
But I brought in so little money that we actually qualified for government assistance in the form of food stamps (SNAPS as they call it now).
From side project to 7-figures
In hopes of attracting a few new gigs, I started blogging and recording YouTube videos about my work. But for over a year, my audience was basically just my mom and brother (and neither of them even do music).
I kept going, trying just about everything to figure out how this online business thing worked. Until finally, after 18 long months, I started to see momentum.
First it was $500 a month… then $5,000 a month... and eventually The Recording Revolution (by God’s grace!) became a 7-figure business that serves 20,000+ paying customers and reaches millions of students each year from every single country in the world!
It’s not just about the money
I believe that entrepreneurship is about serving people.
When you have an "others-focused" mindset, it takes the burden off of you to make everything perfect. Just do your best to help people!
And in return, your business doesn’t have to take over your life – instead, it can serve you as much as you’re serving others!
Thanks to my online business, I’m able to spend time with my wife and daughters, volunteer at my church, get regular sleep, and focus on being as generous as I can with the blessings I’ve been given.
